🌟 What is Ironstone?

Ironstone is not a material in itself, but a type of fine, very resistant earthenware, enriched with kaolin and feldspar. Invented in England, it was quickly adopted by French faience factories for its great resistance and whiter appearance than traditional earthenware. It thus made it possible to reproduce the appearance of porcelain at a lower cost, while offering an ideal surface for various decorations (transfer, polychromy, etc.).
