Authentic set of 4 dinner plates from the Badonviller faience factory, "Empire" model. This French Ironstone tableware features elegant embossed decoration (acanthus and oak leaf motifs) and a green transferware frieze. Ideal pieces for a Country Chic or Grandmillennial style table.
🇫🇷 The Legacy of Badonviller Faience
These plates come from the French manufacturer Badonviller, which was a major player in Ironstone production in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The "Empire" model is notable for its double decoration:
Embossed (Stamped): The rim features fine embossed work, often inspired by the plant motifs and palmettes of the Empire period.
Transferred Decor: A frieze of green plant garlands (laurel or oak leaves) frames the center of the plate, creating a subtle and elegant contrast.
