Salins Pharaon Art Deco coal miner's deep plate

Bring a touch of mystery and Art Deco elegance to your table with these superb Terre de Fer deep plates, sold individually.

From the famous Salins-les-Bains factory, the "Pharaon" model stands out with its graphic and refined decor: a frieze of stylized motifs evoking fans or lotus flowers in black and ocher, typical of the Egyptomania influence of the 1920s.

These plates are perfect for enhancing your soups, pastas, or composed salads while telling a page from the history of French tableware.

The stamp on the back ("E. Charbonnier - Salins") allows for precise dating of these pieces. Édouard Charbonnier, son of the director of the Longchamp factory, took over the Salins earthenware factory in 1912. Under his direction, the factory experienced a dazzling artistic boom, crowned by a gold medal at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925.

The Pharaon model perfectly fits into this Roaring Twenties period, where the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb (1922) launched a global trend for motifs inspired by ancient Egypt.
