🇫🇷 The Authenticity of Terre de Fer
This lot consists of four dinner plates made of Terre de Fer, an earthenware halfway between classic earthenware and porcelain, very popular in France at the end of the 19th century. The decoration, made using the Transferware technique, is a timeless classic.
The Primerose (or sometimes Primrose) model is a staple of Eastern French manufacturers:
Possible manufacturers: Salins or Badonviller.
Decor: A monochrome blue floral frieze that frames the plate, leaving the center uncluttered.
These plates bring incomparable old-world charm and can be easily mixed and matched with other Terre de Fer patterns or used on their own.
