This magnificent enameled slipware pitcher (or jug), an emblematic piece from the famous Faïencerie d'Onnaing (Northern France), is a vibrant testament to the Art Nouveau craftsmanship of the 1890-1910 era.

It stands out with its superb relief decoration: a structure perfectly imitating woven basketry, topped with a delicate knot and enhanced on the front by a large relief pansy flower. Its enamel features a splendid gradient of spring hues, oscillating from a deep old rose at its base to a warm apricot/salmon tone on the neck.

Interior & enamel: Presence of a hairline crack across the top of the neck near the handle, visible both inside and out, as well as general crazing of the enamel (earthenware beautifully crackled by time).

Exterior: 2 chips to note on the tip of the spout.
