Magnificent vintage deep dish / salad bowl from the French earthenware factory Ceranord (Saint-Amand), in the highly sought-after "Cotentin" pattern. This piece perfectly embodies the aesthetic of everyday tableware from the 1950s-1960s.
Brand & Origin: Ceranord, Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, an earthenware factory in Northern France, renowned for its robustness and popular designs.
Model: Cotentin.
Design: A stylized fruit pattern (probably apples or berries) created with an airbrush in soft, subtly graded shades:
Bordeaux/Wine Lees for the fruits and vertical geometric patterns.
Grey Blue for the stylized foliage.
Shape: Wide, deep bowl with a slightly scalloped rim, ideal as a salad bowl, serving dish, or fruit bowl.
🇫🇷 The Charm of Retro Earthenware
This type of airbrushed decoration is emblematic of post-war French earthenware production. It brings a touch of pastel color and softness to a table or display cabinet.
It is an ideal piece to complete a Ceranord tableware collection or to be mixed with other vintage pieces ("Mix and Match").
🔎
Condition: Good general vintage condition.
Please note: The dish shows normal signs of use for its age. A small chip is visible on the rim (see photo 1), which is typical of everyday used pieces and does not detract from its rustic charm.
