📜 The History of Ateliers du Revernay: Between Art and Tradition

Founded around 1896 by the Utzschneider et Cie company (the owners of the famous Sarreguemines earthenware factory), Ateliers du Revernay takes its name from a locality in Digoin (Saône-et-Loire), where the official residence of the factory director was located. Originally created as a high-end art workshop alongside industrial production, Revernay gained recognition at the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris and distinguished itself with exceptional Art Deco artistic stoneware highly prized by collectors.

After a period of dormancy, the workshop experienced a new artistic and artisanal life between 1950 and 1960, during which the brand added the mention "SDV" (for Sarreguemines-Digoin-Vitry). It is from this period of creative renaissance and short duration that these magnificent embossed seafood plates originate.

The Design: Each plate features 6 textured compartments perfectly imitating the natural roughness of oyster shells, arranged around a central medallion depicting a crab. This central placement is ideal for holding lemon or a vinegar cup.
