French glass Windsor vase by JG Durand for Luminarc, 1970
Large vintage Windsor vase in transparent glass created by JG Durand for the French manufacturer Luminarc in the 1970s. In pressed cut glass from Verrerie d'Arques, with very beautiful geometric reliefs.
JG Durand is one of the most innovative crystal glass producers of the 20th century. Established in 1927 near the French village of Arques, JG Durand was very well known and its glass tableware is still highly regarded today. The author's inspiration for modernizing production was a trip to the United States in the early 1930s. Over the last two decades, JG Durand has secured an unchanged position by taking over other renowned glass brands.
